P.S Satellites Project ‘Sanctity’ by Kristin Meyers opens to the public on Nov 18, 2017 and concludes on Feb 25, 2018 in the public space of the grand hall in New Orleans Healing Center (2372 St. Claude Ave, New Orleans, LA 70117).

An Installation: ‘Sanctity,’ reflects in five actions, sacred patterning in systems. A trinity of works, ‘Introspection,’ ‘Resilience’, and ‘Devotion’ revolve around the ritual of Ex-Voto Anatomici, an action petitioning for intervention or gratitude in offerings of figural representation. The project entwines the roots of the artist’s classical foundation in figuration and ritual.

Departing with ‘Sanctity,’ an installation of sculpture, components of the installation will be activated in procession from the New Orleans Healing Center along the neutral ground of St. Claude Ave. joining the complete exhibition, ‘Sanctity Extended’ at Barrister’s Gallery. In conjunction, ‘Sanctity’ offers a public ritual and a formal conversation on the meaning and significance of sacred space. Works are divided to celebrate the complexity in human form or express the challenge in its vulnerability. The project explores sacred space being different for each individual, whereas the constant is in the sanctity extended at the site.
