19 Jan Sanctity Extended: The Procession

Kristin Meyers presents “A Transitory Activation: The Procession” as a P.S. Satellite Project of Prospect New Orleans on Saturday, Jan 13th, 2018 @ 6pm.

Commences at the New Orleans Healing Center (2372 St. Claude Ave.) along the Neutral Ground to Barrister’s Gallery (2331 St. Claude Ave. New Orleans, LA)

‘The Procession’ brings select works outside into public view along the 2300 block of St. Claude Ave. on the neutral ground in procession and unite with works already installed at Barrister’s Gallery. In taking the work out of the sacred site, the public is invited to witness the works activated in procession with the ritual sounds of Nana Sula Spirit.

The works in the procession are each support structures used to reinforce movement and fused with the imprint of the person to which they belonged. The particular proportions are left untouched so as not to interfere with the energy held within. This transitory activation mirrors the action within the ritual explored.
